About the event

The Housing Consortium of Everett and Snohomish County is pleased to host an Affordable Housing Lunch Forum event featuring the Black Home Initiative (BHI) - a region-wide, cross-sector network dedicated to advancing Black homeownership and closing racial wealth gaps in Washington.

This panel discussion will explore what it could mean to expand BHI’s network into Snohomish County, and how a coordinated, systems-level approach can strengthen pathways to stable, sustainable homeownership for Black households in our community. Panelists will discuss the role of lenders, housing developers, local governments, nonprofits, and community-based organizations in addressing structural barriers to homeownership and building solutions rooted in equity, collaboration, and lived experience.

The forum will be led by Marty Kooistra, Black Home Initiative Network Weaver, alongside other BHI network participants, who will share insights into how the BHI model works, lessons learned from other regions, and opportunities for local partners to engage as this work takes…
