About the event

Comprehensive Plans shape the future of our communities - from where housing can be built, to how dense it can be, to what infrastructure and investments support it. But too often, these documents feel technical, inaccessible, or disconnected from day-to-day housing work.

In this Lunch & Learn session, we’ll break down why Comprehensive Plans matter - and why affordable housing advocates, developers, service providers, and community leaders should care.

Participants will learn:

  • How to read and interpret key sections of a Comprehensive Plan

  • Where land use, zoning, housing, and capital facilities policies directly impact affordable housing feasibility

  • How to identify policy language that can unlock more equitable housing outcomes
