Everett 2044

The Everett City Council has officially adopted Everett 2044, a major update to the city’s comprehensive plan! Thanks to advocacy from LISC, Connect Casino Road, Futurewise, and Housing Consortium of Everett and Snohomish County, inclusionary zoning was preserved in the final draft—supporting more affordable housing as the city grows. The plan aligns with state goals and lays the groundwork for a more connected, inclusive future for Everett.
Community Inclusion Survey Now Live!
Snohomish County and LISC Puget Sound have launched a countywide Community Inclusion Survey to hear directly from people with developmental disabilities (DD), their families, caregivers, and the professionals who support them.
The survey only takes about 10 minutes and will help shape future programs, services, and advocacy efforts that build belonging for people of all abilities. It is multilingual, anonymous and open through September 30. Take the Survey Today.
Rooted Ownership, Growing Opportunity
LISC joined the City of Everett and EcoNW in presenting the new South Everett Economic Development Strategy to Everett’s City Council on July 23. LISC and EcoNW developed a strategy offers a clear framework to strengthen local ownership, align workforce development with industry demand, and leverage transit-oriented development to benefit current and future residents. Recommendations are designed to prevent displacement, stabilize and grow small businesses, and ensure prosperity is shared across the community.
Washington’s community and technical colleges power our economy, but too many students are forced to choose between school and a safe place to live. The State Board for Community & Technical Colleges partnered with LISC Puget Sound and ECONorthwest to chart the future of low‑income student housing statewide. The message is unmistakable: students can’t thrive without stable housing, and Washington can’t afford to lose their talent. Read the full reports.

overall creative has put out a call for artists to design a mural that will be installed at the Pacific Ave and I-5 overpass in Everett. This wall is the first impression for the city - the impact will be enormous, and the community members planning it care deeply about it’s success. The call is open to graphic designers as well as muralists! Apply to the RFQ here by Aug 15.

Rain or shine, Everett shows up! On June 21, dedicated volunteers gathered for a community clean-up at Walter E. Hall Park collecting nearly 500 lbs. of trash. With support from Bunker Arts Collective, this event was more than just a clean-up. It was a chance to build connections, uplift local leaders, and celebrate the park as a true South Everett community treasure.
Walter E. Hall Park is getting an upgrade! With support from LISC, the City of Everett secured AARP funding to create an ADA-accessible entry and reopen a former utility corridor. These improvements will add a paved path connecting the park to nearby neighborhoods—boosting walkability, safety, and access for all.
